Black Maternity Matters

We support the delivery of the Black Maternity Matters programme, which focuses on anti-racist action to address the poorer outcomes faced by Black mothers and their babies in NHS maternity and neonatal services. This programme was developed by Health Innovation West of England in partnership with Representation Matters and BCoCo.

United Kingdom Annual Campaign

MMC focuses on reducing health disparities in Black Mothers, supporting maternal mental health by delivering free mental health sessions to mothers/birthing people, dedicated peer-to-peer support for black mothers, & culturally sensitive programmes. The ‘How are you, today?’ campaign to celebrate the power and importance of community for mothers to use.

This network launched by The Young Foundation & JUST Centre, brings together diverse practitioners working across areas of life being affected by the climate transition — changemakers, community organisers, researchers, service providers etc, through a sustained, cohort based, programme. By enabling peer learning, reflective practice, & collaborative action, we are bridging the gap between knowledge-generation, lived experience, policy design and implementation.

This initiative funded by Farming the Future, brings together 12 senior leaders dedicated to advancing Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) beyond traditional EDI frameworks — towards deeper cultural & systemic transformation, to redefine justice centred leadership in the food & farming sector & support leaders in actively recognising, challenging & changing power, resource & decision-making distribution.
